A lot of my inspiration comes in equal parts from the solitude of being in close proximity to nature and the vibrant energy that leaves me in awe when I am exploring cities; new and old. I feel constantly charged by the strange and irresistible lure of quirky characters and, more notably, the people I encounter that push, pull, and pause me on a daily basis. What intrigues me most right now is the art of urban mural-making, textural collages, Catalan Modernism, Mexican and Haitian folk art, masquerade balls, the splendorous patina of decomposition, African textiles, portraiture of all persuasions, late 19th century French design and painting, Victorian and Native American garb, and the explosive neon color patterns that come to me in dreams and fade in and out of my mind when I least expect it.
Most all of my creations are made out of my studio near the Avenue of the Arts in Philadelphia. If ever you should find yourself in the area, know that you are more than welcome to stop by and see where all the magic happens.
